Commencement Ceremonies
Commencement Ceremony 1: Tuesday, December 9th @ 4:00 pm
Due to the capacity of the venue for the December commencement we will have two ceremonies. The first ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm and graduates are encouraged to arrive in their regalia at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony. All graduates will be distributed 6 tickets to provide to guests.
***Important: Graduates that indicated “Yes” on their December graduation application will be sent notice to their SWTX Office 365 email which will provide which ceremony and time they will be participating in. The ceremony and time that is on the graduate email notice and tickets are final due to limitations with capacity at the venue.
Commencement Ceremony 2: Tuesday, December 9th @ 7:00 pm

The second ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm and graduates are encouraged to arrive in their regalia at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony. All graduates will be distributed 6 tickets to provide to guests.

Facility Entry
For security purposes, all graduates and guests will be asked to walk through a metal detector prior to entering the facility. Please be aware that a clear bag policy will be in place.Commencement Regalia
Cap and gown can be purchased at the college bookstore. Only regalia (stoles, cords, etc.) that have been issued by the college will be permitted at the ceremony. No custom or other regalia items will be permitted.Media and Photos
The college Public Relations staff will be covering the event exclusively during the ceremony and will also broadcast live via Facebook and YouTube (Please visit the SWTX website on the scheduled commencement day/time).
No other individuals or media personnel will be permitted at or near the stage during or after the ceremony. All graduates will be escorted outside of the primary event area upon conclusion of the ceremony to a designated part of the facility for photo opportunities and light refreshments with family and friends.
Services for Disabilities
Limited handicap parking will be available in the main parking lot area behind the civic center. Decal must be displayed in the vehicle upon arrival.
Diplomas
Diplomas will be mailed out in June 2026, pending that there are no institutional holds.
All Students
Candidates for graduation must clear all obligations (fines, transcripts, checked-out devices, etc.) with the college before receiving their diploma or SWTX official transcripts.Commencement Ceremony Parking
General parking is available in the back of the civic center. There will be a designated entrance for graduates only and a separate entrance for family and friends that is located in the back of the civic center.
Food and Beverages
No food or beverages will be allowed to be brought into the facility. However, a campus club inside the facility will sell water for guests.Commencement Ceremony Location
